The GEM4GF pilot aims at designing, installing, and operating an energy management/steering system within the energy community of farmers in Lassee, Austria. The energy community will share the energy produced in PVs (photovoltaic) installed in their rooftops. With the energy management tool, farmers will be able to know when the PVs are producing the most energy and will be able to turn on their electric water pumps and cold storages, enabling a higher use of their produced energy while reducing the energy costs. This will be achieved using IoT technology of smart meters, data science and algorithms analysing historic energy consumption data.
